Family Pet Level 1 / Intermediate Class - 5 Week Class
Class Total Cost: $395
(Deposit of $25 is required to reserve your spot in class)
5 Week Class (One Hour Classes)
Teach your dog pal functional obedience skills and manners you'll use every day. Yes, your pet can walk on the leash nicely, stop jumping up, and learn to come when called. Watch how fast your dog can learn these important lessons that carry over into life at home, too.
Corrections are gentle and do not cause pain or fear to dogs. None involve hitting or rolling the dog on its back or screaming at the dog. I’ve got effective corrections for bad behavior that do not cause pain and do not make the dog fearful of you. Dogs must be non-aggressive to both humans and dogs and know basic commands taught in Puppy Beginner Class.
I do not use clickers. Please do not bring them to class.
I do not use choke chains, pinch, or shock collars. These are hard to use correctly and cause unnecessary pain to your trusting pet. I use harnesses and head collars which do not cause pain.
Shock collars are illegal in Austria, Germany, Iceland, Finland, Switzerland, Portugal, Wales, all of the United Kingdom, parts of Australia, Sweden, Norway and Denmark
Food is used as a reward system with the teaching that food should eventually disappear. No one wants a dog that won't sit unless you wave a cookie under his nose.
Some of the training we'll cover:
Advanced no Jumping Up on the family and strangers
Walk/heel on either side of the human
Squirrel in the pocket to teach the heel position
Come when Called
Loose leash walking/heeling
Stay while other dogs walk past
Hand signals
Lie down/Stay
One minute stay with leash dropped
How to go to the heel position
This class teaches Therapy Dog skills
Taught in a relaxed, friendly environment where dogs and people learn best.
Payment Terms: A $25 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your spot in class, the balance will be due on the first day of class. Balance for class - $370 for Check, made out to Sue Myles, or Cash. (Total for class is $395) I do not take debit or credit cards, Zelle, Venmo, or any payment except cash or check. Since we last connected, we’ve been working with the Halti Head Collar. You gave me the confidence I needed to really give it a go. Well, we’ve had total success with this. My rotator cuffs, that’s both, are healing nicely and Luca is delighted to be going out so much more. He went to Encino on Monday, accompanied Joe and I to a meeting. I’ve never known a dog to enjoy a 3 hr. car ride, each way. He literally spent the day in the car and walked around a lovely park without pulling my arms out!!
- Bravo Luca, Bravo!
“Here is Kole showing off his ribbon. Mike and I really enjoyed the course and we will keep working on training using the tools and tips we learned in class. Thank you for a very informative and entertaining experience!
Take care,”

“I was so proud today. Grey and I were in the garage doing laundry and my husband came home from work and opened the garage door. Grey bolted to our front lawn area and stopped on the sidewalk. There was a lady with her toddler walking on the other side of the street. My hear dropped.
I ran after him and called "Grey Come", he looked at me and I firmly yelled "Come" with the hand signal and he ran right back to me!!! I was so proud of him!! My husband said that is the best thing you brought home from training.
Even Huskies can come when called off-leash! See you in family Pet Level Two.”
